My research interest is in understanding the pathogenesis of autoimmune diseases and how the inflammatory cells reach their targets. Rheumatoid arthritis and vasculitis are the two diseases in which the vascular system has the most important role.

Dr. Kimpel took copious notes of my complaints which were extensive. He asked lots of questions and examined the records provided for him carefully. He could not provide a clear diagnosis at the time pending lab results, but appeared to put on his detective hat on my behalf.
