Bio & Overview
Eric M. Davis, MD, received his medical degree from University of Virginia. He completed a residency in internal medicine and was chief resident at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Center in Boston. He then pursued a fellowship in pulmonary and critical care at the University of Pittsburgh, followed by a final year of training in the sleep fellowship program at University of Pennsylvania.
Davis returned to UVA in 2014 as an assistant professor of medicine. Today, he is a pulmonary and critical care physician specializing in caring for patients with sleep disorders, including sleep apnea, narcolepsy, insomnia and parasomnias. Additionally, he is involved in the co-management of patients with neuromuscular weakness as it pertains to its effect on sleep and breathing.
From a research perspective, Davis is interested in the impact sleep apnea has on memory impairment and he is partnering with colleagues in neurology and sleep medicine in a clinical research study investigating this relationship.
