Evelyn F Ramirez, MS

Evelyn Ramirez, MS, is a genetic counselor with experience across pediatric, prenatal, and general genetics. As a genetic counselor, she provides risk assessments, coordinates genetic testing, interprets and discloses results, and counsels patients and families. 

Ramirez grew up in Chicago in a close-knit family where healthcare and higher education were not always easily accessible. As a first-generation student, she learned early on the importance of advocacy, resilience, and using education as a tool to create opportunities. These experiences shaped her strong commitment to health equity and her passion for helping patients and families feel informed and supported as they navigate complex medical decisions.

She studied molecular and cellular biology at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and earned her master’s degree in genetic counseling from the University of Pennsylvania.

“I focus on empathy and clear communication,” she says. “I love helping families understand what genetic information means for them, what options are available, and how to move forward with clarity.”

Outside of work, she loves her cat (Stevie), crocheting, baking, cooking, hiking, and watching sports, especially the Chicago Cubs and the Eagles.
