Bio & Overview
Francesco Moroni, MD, is a cardiologist who treats patients who are critically ill due to underlying heart conditions. He specializes in critical care cardiology and has expertise in general cardiology and pulmonary hypertension.
His research focuses on immune system modulation in cardiovascular disease. He’s also working to optimize treatments and improve outcomes for critically ill patients.
Dr. Moroni was born in Milan, Italy, and earned his medical degree from Vita-Salute San Raffaele University, where he also completed his cardiovascular medicine fellowship. He completed his internal medicine internship and residency and critical care medicine fellowship at the University of Virginia.
Outside of work, he enjoys hiking, cooking, and exploring the area around Charlottesville with his wife and daughter.
