Highlights
Meet Jared Beller, MD
My name is Jared Beller, and I'm an Adult Cardiac Surgeon at the University of Virginia. As an Adult Cardiac Surgeon at the University of Virginia, I treat patients with all sorts of cardiovascular disease, specifically those that need open heart surgery. My particular interest is patients with adult congenital heart disease, so patients that were born with congenital disease that require surgery in adulthood. When patients see me in clinic for the first time or in the hospital, they can expect that they'll be treated as an individual. We often see patients who are not feeling well, unable to do things that they used to enjoy, and then we're able to do an operation or an intervention, and that allows them to get back to the normal life that they used to live, feeling better, being able to spend time with their family and their friends. And that's what I most enjoy about my job. I think the thing that makes UVA a unique place to get medical care is the collaborative approach that we take when we approach patients. Everyone from the cardiologists, to the cardiac surgeons, to the imagers, all come together to develop a particular treatment plan for the individual patient and their disease process. That way we can tailor what they need to what we have available.
