Jessica Sallwasser, MD, is a pediatrician with UVA Children’s.
“I’ve learned so much from my patients over the years, and I love educating patients and parents to give them more power over their own health,” she says.
Sallwasser knew early on she wanted to be a doctor. “I used to bandage up my stuffed animals,” she shares. “I love science, and it interests me the most when it is applied to real life and real people.”
Sallwasser grew up in Yorktown, Virginia. She earned her medical degree and completed residency training at UVA Health. She worked for 5 years at a Federally Qualified Community Health Center in Lynchburg, Virginia, serving as pediatric medical director.
She loves kids, dogs, arts and crafts, and getting outdoors when the weather gets crisp.
