Bio & Overview
Joshua Eby, MD, is a clinical internist and infectious diseases specialist who serves as the director of the outpatient parenteral antibiotic therapy service and medical director of Employee Health at UVA. He received his undergraduate degree from Yale University and medical degree from Stanford University School of Medicine. Dr. Eby then completed residency training at Brigham and Women’s Hospital, followed by fellowship training in infectious diseases at UVA.
Born and raised in Massachusetts, Dr. Eby joined the UVA faculty in 2009. He specializes in general infectious diseases, the science of whooping cough and healthcare quality improvement. He has served as a member of the Infectious Diseases Society of America Quality Improvement Committee and is working to improve the experience and care of patients who receive home intravenous antibiotics.
In his free time, Dr. Eby enjoys spending time with his wife and two kids, cooking and playing tennis.
