Bio & Overview
Kaitlyn McGrail is a certified physician assistant who cares for cancer patients at UVA Comprehensive Cancer Center. She has a particular interest in the diagnosis and treatment of urologic cancers, such as kidney, prostate and bladder cancer.
McGrail first became interested in a career in oncology as an undergraduate at Western Michigan University. After receiving her graduate degree from Trevecca Nazarene University in Nashville, Tenn., she returned to the Midwest to work in cancer centers in Michigan and Illinois before making the move to Charlottesville.
For McGrail, every patient she sees brings new challenges and rewards. “To me, every patient is different,” she says. “Every visit, their needs may change. So I try to concentrate on what is bothering them or changing at that precise time and come up with a plan to help them throughout their cancer journey.”
