Katherine Latimer, MD is a board-certified OBGYN and Associate Medical Director of Inpatient Obstetrics at UVA Hospital. Dr. Latimer loves helping women through the personal aspects of their obstetric and gynecologic health. From the office to the operating room and the delivery suite, she is committed to ensuring quality, thoughtful care for her patients and individualizing care to match each person’s unique needs.
As part of the University’s teaching mission, she is one of the Co-Directors of the Surgery, Anesthesiology, Gynecology and Obstetrics course at the School of Medicine and a recipient of the Dean’s Excellence in Teaching Award.
Dr Latimer grew up in the Washington, D.C. metro area. She received her Bachelor of Science from Georgetown University where she graduated summa cum laude with the Taylor Weber award for highest departmental GPA. Dr. Latimer attended Johns Hopkins University for medical school and received the Emily Simms Haller Prize in Obstetrics. While completing her education, she worked as a perinatal educator and an EMT. After medical school, Dr. Latimer stayed at Johns Hopkins Hospital to complete her residency training in gynecology and obstetrics. She moved to Crozet with her family in 2016. She has delivered at UVA as a patient herself as she is the mother of six energetic children!
During her free time, she can be found attending and carpooling to local kids sporting events!
