Bio & Overview
Kevin Cross, PhD, ATC, PT, is a physical therapist who specializes in the rehabilitation of sports-related injuries and orthopedic conditions.
He offers his patients individualized treatment plans to address their unique conditions and emphasizes the achievement of patient-focused goals.
“I am very interested in the occurrence of sports injuries and the process of returning athletes back to high levels of function,” he says. “I believe that the same rehabilitation process is effective for helping physical therapy patients return to their sport or recreation of interest.”
Kevin was raised in Rural Retreat in southwest Virginia. He earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in sports medicine and athletic training from the University of Virginia.
After working in a college setting for two years, he attended physical therapy school at the University of Indianapolis and later earned his doctorate in kinesiology from the University of Virginia.
He has worked as a certified athletic trainer in college sports and in an outpatient orthopedic physical therapy clinic. Kevin is also an instructor in the UVA Graduate Athletic Training Program.
