Bio & Overview
Kimberly (Kim) S. Bednar, DNP, FNP-C is a board-certified family nurse practitioner. She provides care for infants, children, adolescents and adults and has practiced in Family Medicine, Neuroradiology, and Cardiology. Kim is passionate about serving the refugee population of Charlottesville and she has clinic appointments dedicated entirely to these patients. Kim has been practicing as a Nurse Practitioner since 2007 and has worked in rural and urban practice settings in Virginia.
Kim rejoined UVA Family Medicine in 2022 and she has been involved in leading our efforts to retain the National Committee for Quality Assurance (NCQA) recognition as a Patient-Centered Medical Home. Additionally, she serves as government relations chair for the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and she is actively engaged in state and regional activities for nurse practitioners. Her other roles at UVA include co-leading the quality improvement team, supervising the medical scribes who document patient interactions, and mentoring as well as on-boarding nurse practitioner colleagues.
