Bio & Overview
Kristine Ziemba, MD, PhD, is a neurologist who specializes in diagnosing and treating adults with epilepsy.
“The needs of my patients come first,” she says. “My first step is to listen to patients. Really listen. Then we make a plan together that takes their questions and concerns into account.”
Ziemba grew up in the suburbs of Phoenix, Arizona, and attended Arizona State University, where she earned a master’s degree in zoology and a secondary education certification.
She worked as a high school teacher and community college biology instructor while her son was young. She then pursued her dream of becoming a doctor and earned her medical degree and a PhD with a focus on cell transplantation from the University of Kentucky. Her son graduated from high school the same month she graduated from medical school.
Ziemba completed her neurology residency and an epilepsy/clinical neurophysiology fellowship at the Mayo Clinic.
