Laahn Foster, MD, is a hematologist/oncologist specializing in treating patients with plasma cell disorders, such as monoclonal gammopathy, myeloma, amyloidosis and Waldenstrom macroglobulinemia.
Dr. Foster grew up in Boston and attended Cornell University in upstate New York. After graduation, she moved to New York City and worked in management consulting, focused on the business side of medicine, before deciding to pursue a career as a physician. She earned her medical degree from New York Medical College and completed a residency in internal medicine at Robert Wood Johnson Medical School in New Jersey. She came to UVA for a fellowship in hematology/oncology, and joined the faculty after completing her training.
Dr. Foster lives in Charlottesville with her husband, Thomas, and their son Liam. Outside of work, she is rarely sitting still: she enjoys food and wine, running, golf and playing piano.
