Meet Nurse Practitioner, Leslie Peregoy, MSN, PNP
My name is Leslie Peregoy. I'm a nurse practitioner in Pediatric Cardiology. I help follow patients with single ventricle heart conditions, in particular throughout infancy. I am part of the heart failure heart transplant team, and I see patients with familial hypercholesterolemia. My interest and love for children is definitely why I decided to go into pediatrics. I've worked with kids for as long as I can remember, from when I was babysitting at age 12, to being a camp counselor and a swim coach. And going into pediatric nursing seemed natural for me. I believe, no matter what heart condition or heart concern that the child may have, it's our job to treat everyone with kindness and respect and help them be able to do the things throughout their lives that they want to do. I would strongly encourage children and their families to come to UVA if there is concern about heart conditions and their child, because we are a great team that's not only really good at what we do every day, but we work well together. We will treat you as though you're a part of our team and our family.
