Lisa W. Foster, PAC, is a neurosurgical physician assistant.
Foster was born and raised in Fredericksburg. She attended Army basic training at Fort Jackson, SC, and combat medic training at Fort Sam Houston in San Antonio before earning her undergraduate degree with a focus in biology and kinesiology from Virginia Commonwealth University.
She worked for several years as a coordinator with the Hanover Health Department breast cancer education and early detection program and as a combat medic in the Virginia Army National Guard. She was then accepted into the U.S. Army Interservice Physician Assistant Program and graduated from the University of Nebraska.
Foster retired from the Army in 2012 after serving 22 years in the Virginia Army National Guard. Her service included an overseas deployment in 2010 as a battalion surgeon in Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom and stateside activation as a clinical coordinator with the Wounded Warrior Program in 2005 in support of Operation Enduring Freedom.
She is married with three daughters. She and her husband took timber framing classes so they could build their first barn.
