Highlights
Endocrinologist Meg Crook, MD
My name is Meg Crook and I'm an endocrinologist at UVA. I take care of patients who havediabetes, thyroid disease and osteoporosis primarily. I also developed thyroid diseaseas a medical student. I think I can relate to my patients who also have thyroid disease. I started out first with an interest in biology. I worked in a lab for several years. It was actually a lab that focused on endocrinology as well. I went to medical school at UVA. I left for residency. I came back to UVA for my endocrinology training. I try to make decisions with patients, educate them as much as I can so they are making informed decisions, rather than telling them what to do. I think they'll be pleased with the personal and cozy atmosphere of my clinic. The most rewarding part of my job is developing patient relationships over time. I've had some patients for 10 years, 15 years and that really becomes a special bond over time.
