Marissa T Dunkerley, LCSW

Marissa Dunkerley, LCSW, is a licensed clinical social worker who works with teens and young adults. She focuses on anxiety, depression, grief, and stress management. She also works with student athletes.

Her research interests include mental health in student athletes and the connection between physical conditions and mental health symptoms.

“I’m very easygoing and enjoy using humor in sessions and learning what makes my patients laugh,” she says. “I want my patients to feel comfortable with me and truly be their authentic selves.”

Dunkerley grew up in Peoria, Illinois, and competed in track and field in high school and college. She earned her undergraduate degree and a master’s in social work from St. Ambrose University in Davenport, Iowa, where she was also a graduate assistant coach for the cross country and track and field programs.

“I do my best to empower my patients to make positive changes in their lives,” Dunkerley says. “I want them to see me as an ally walking along with them through hard times.”
