Bio & Overview

Meghan Little is a physical therapist who has decades of orthopedic experience. A board-certified hand therapist, she specializes in hand therapy, lymphedema, manual therapy, and trigger point dry needling to help patients reduce pain, whether they have a chronic condition, injury, or are recovering from surgery.

“I love putting a smile back on a patient’s face and helping them through tough times,” she says.

Meghan entered the medical field early in life, working as an emergency medical technician in high school and as an athletic trainer in college. It was her experience working with athletes that led her to pursue a career in physical therapy.

She received her Master’s of Science in Physical Therapy from George Washington University in Washington, D.C., where she graduated summa cum laude. Meghan then got her Doctorate in Physical Therapy at Marymount University in Arlington, Virginia.

After working in the field for seven years and briefly serving as an adjunct professor at Marymount University, Meghan interned with a hand surgeon who inspired her to pursue board certification in hand therapy. She started her own hand therapy practice and was director of a hand clinic in Staunton prior to joining the UVA Health team in September 2023.

Meghan and her husband have two children and live on a flower farm in Afton, Virginia.
