Highlights
Dr. Nick Paphitis profile video
- My name is Nick Paphitis. I'm a hematologist oncologist for UVA Community Cancer Center. Cancer care became an interest in residency when I saw that patients were just tremendously invested in their treatment plan and in their care overall. I think the most exciting developments are targeted therapies and immunotherapies. I enjoy seeing all types of hematology and oncology patients. That's why I'm a generalist in this community care model. I enjoy working with the UVA health system because of access to clinical trials and ability to collaborate with specialists in many different fields and disciplines. I also enjoy working with the patients out in the community because we're able to serve them well closest to home for them where it's most convenient. Our team is wonderful. We have excellent nursing staff, nurse practitioners, physician assistants. We all work together very well through challenging cases and patient dynamics certainly, but the goal is to deliver the best care that we can to the patient and support their family as well.
