Bio & Overview
Nisha Hosadurg, MD, is a cardiologist who specializes in diagnosing heart conditions, preventive cardiology, and women’s heart health. She also has a particular interest in South Asian cardiovascular health.
Her expertise in cardiac imaging allows her to diagnose and monitor heart conditions using advanced techniques like cardiac CT and cardiac MRI. Her research interests include using these techniques to better find and prevent premature coronary disease in high-risk populations.
“I always try to thoroughly explain my thoughts and rationale for tests and treatments in a way that is completely understandable. I want patients to be equal participants in decision making for complex issues where there may not always be one correct answer” she says.
Hosadurg was born in Cincinnati, OH. She was raised briefly in the suburbs of Los Angeles before moving to India, where she spent most of her formative years in and around Bangalore in the southern part of the country. She feels her somewhat unique experience as a first-generation Indian American has made her adaptable to a variety of environments.
Hosadurg earned her medical degree at Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute in India. She completed her internal medicine residency at Tufts University in Boston and her general cardiology and advanced imaging fellowships at UVA Health.
