Bio & Overview
Rebecca Mullan, MD, is an internal medicine physician specializing in geriatric medicine. She is the medical director of the UVA Geriatrics Outpatient Clinic at Colonnades Medical Associates.
She is also actively involved in training new providers through the primary care clerkship at UVA School of Medicine. She has a special interest in tools to enhance patient-physician communication and medical education.
Dr. Mullan earned her bachelor’s degree in immunology at McGill University in Montreal, Canada, and her master’s of science in public health at the University of Edinburgh in Scotland. She then worked at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester, Minnesota, for five years prior to earning her medical degree at the University of Minnesota.
In 2015, Dr. Mullan came to UVA to pursue a residency in internal medicine, followed by a fellowship in geriatrics. She continued her training at Northwestern University, where she completed a fellowship in hospice and palliative medicine. Dr. Mullan joined the UVA faculty in 2020.
