Richard Flowers, MD, FAAD, sees a wide variety of dermatologic diseases. He is a general dermatologist who focuses on complex conditions.
His special interests include:
- Rheumatologic dermatology (lupus erythematosus, dermatomyositis, scleroderma, psoriasis)
 - Blistering diseases (immunobullous disease including pemphigus, pemphigoid)
 - Hidradenitis suppurativa
 - Vasculitis
 - Sarcoidosis
 
Dr. Flowers conducts a Rheumatology Dermatology Combined clinic as well as a specialty clinic for patients with hidradenitis suppurativa.
He completed medical school at the University of Mississippi. He came to Charlottesville to complete his internship in internal medicine and then his residency training in dermatology, both at the University of Virginia. He remained as a member of the core faculty in the Department of Dermatology.
