As a pediatric anesthesiologist, Samantha Vizzini, MD, specializes in pediatric cardiac anesthesia.
An Atlanta native, Dr. Vizzini earned a bachelor’s degree in neuroscience from Tulane University. She worked for a year as a researcher at the Medical University of South Carolina before returning to Tulane for medical school. After completing her residency in anesthesiology at University of Miami/Jackson Health System, Dr. Vizzini completed a fellowship in pediatric anesthesiology and an advanced fellowship in pediatric cardiac anesthesiology at Nationwide Children's Hospital.
Before joining UVA in 2020, Dr. Vizzini was director of the pediatric cardiac rotation at Medical University of South Carolina, where she served on the Resident Education Committee. At UVA, she serves on the School of Medicine’s Academic Standards and Achievement Committee and is the pediatric representative on the Preoperative Evaluation and Optimization Clinic.
