Sam Olds, PA-C is a board-certified physician assistant in the department of otolaryngology-head and neck surgery specializing in laryngology with a focus on voice, swallow and chronic throat concerns.

Originally born and raised in Pittsburgh, PA, Sam moved to Charlottesville, just before high school and has long since considered it his home. He completed his initial undergraduate studies at West Virginia University, receiving a bachelors in business administration. He then found his true calling in medicine and returned to school to become a registered nurse, completing his bachelor of science in nursing at Marymount University in Arlington.

After spending a few years as an RN in emergency medicine and urgent care, he again returned to school to pursue his master of physician assistant degree, graduating from Eastern Virginia Medical School and becoming a board-certified physician assistant in 2018. He joined the UVA laryngology team and the Voice & Swallow Clinic in 2018, partnering with Dr. James Daniero and Dr. Patrick McGarey, Jr.

In his spare time, Sam enjoys spending time with his wife and daughter, exploring the Blue Ridge mountains, experiencing live music, and cheering on the Pittsburgh Steelers and WVU Mountaineers.

PA-C Samuel Olds was the best ENT professional I have ever seen and he examined me thoroughly and I also learned a great deal from him and answered all my questions and was very thorough. BTW his nurse who started the session was also great and very helpful. Moreover the equipment Samuel Olds used opened my nose upper level And I was able to sleep well last night after a long time. PA-C Samuel Olds was superb.
