“My medical approach is to be as comprehensive, honest, and empathic as possible, and I individualize my care plans to each patient's unique needs and values,” she says. “I'm always willing to learn alongside my patients to improve my delivery of care, and I hope they can see me as a true partner in their health journey.”
Dr. Shapiro grew up in a small town in Colorado. She received her medical degree from Virginia Commonwealth University and completed her family medicine residency at the University of Virginia.
“My hope is to always uncover the root cause of a given medical problem, and offer solutions that are meaningful, empowering, and sustainable for my patients,” she says. “This means that sometimes, multiple visits may be needed so that we can give your problems the time and attention they deserve. But I think this method really pays off when it comes to medical outcomes and patient satisfaction.”
