Mosely received her BSN from James Madison University. She started her career as a registered nurse on the neuro intermediate care unit (NIMU) at UVA Medical Center, where she cared for patients with complex neurological disorders and provided specialized post-operative care to patients who received neurosurgical intervention. She then earned her MSN from the University of Virginia to become a nurse practitioner.
