Bio & Overview
Dr. Timothy Kyin is a general allergist who treats a wide spectrum of patient conditions.
He is an assistant professor in allergy and clinical immunology and is the division's medical director of ambulatory and outreach. He is board-certified in allergy and immunology as well as internal medicine.
Dr. Kyin was born in Burma and grew up in Illinois. He completed his undergraduate degree in biomedical engineering at the University of Pennsylvania, where he also received a masters in biotechnology. He earned his medical degree from Rutgers University, then moved to Boston for an internal medicine residency at Tufts Medical Center. Dr. Kyin completed a fellowship in allergy and immunology at Brigham and Women’s Hospital and joined the faculty at Harvard Medical School thereafter.
In 2014, Dr. Kyin joined the faculty at the University of Virginia, his wife’s alma mater. Dr. Kyin and his wife, a UVA primary care doctor, have two children and enjoy taking advantage of Charlottesville’s rich community life. Dr. Kyin also enjoys a good pick-up basketball game when he can.
