Dr Zhu has been a remarkable Dr and I like her but that day everything was off. She didn't even make sense to me with her explanations. Resident tried to say I was confused with appt I have in Dec that was nothing like this appt. Best thing for me to do was walk away. Everyone was talking at once and no one was listening to me at all.
Everything was explained to me and I was informed about everything that was being done and told why things were being done. Made me feel so relaxed
The pain management team; Fellow and Attending Physician were very professional and informative. They concurred on a long term plan of care based on my condition after explaining their rational which all made very good sense. However, the reason I was referred there was for acute pain management and unfortunately this was not addressed. Subsequently, although I left with a solid follow up plan of care which would commence in about 3 months I left empty handed with any tools or strategies for treating the current acute pain I am suffering from.
I would recommend UVA simply because it is a research institution. That in itself is assuring.
Good
The intern was fabulous - listened, asked good questions and had a warm presence. Dr Zhu was cooler and not very personable.
