Highlights
Meet Family Physician Zeeshan Javaid, MD
My name is Dr. Zeeshan Javaid. I'm a family medicine physician working for UVA Health. So I work in the urgent care settings. We see patients of all ages with different acuity levels, whether that be an injury, illness, or if they're not able to see their primary care physicians or specialists. If it is after hours, weekends, we are available for them. We have x-rays on site. We do lab work too. And if they are sick enough, we stabilize them and transport to the emergency room. So we are basically available for everything that walks in through the door. So I chose family medicine because it allows you to see patients of all ages, snd then you get to see a variety of different conditions. You're not limited to adults or pediatrics. You get to combine all the skill sets that trains you to see patients of every age and the family as a whole. So new patients, when they come to our clinic, can expect to be seen promptly in a friendly, yet safe manner. We see all patients who walk through the door as soon as the provider is available. I always make sure that I provide them written instructions so they have something to go by when they go home. So UVA Health is a world-renowned organization with different providers and specialty levels. When patients come to see us, we are able to refer them to the primary care physician if they don't have it or to a specialist if they need it. And when the patient is seen by the UVA provider, the provider always has access to our records. So the patient does not have to remember everything that went through the visit. The provider is able to review that and provide care to the patient in a safe and effective manner.
