Tessy K Paul, MD

Tessy K. Paul, MD, serves as the Medical Director of the Interstitial Lung Disease (ILD) Program and Center Director for the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation Care Center Network at UVA. Her clinical practice is dedicated to the care of patients with interstitial lung diseases, with particular expertise in autoimmune-associated ILD, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF), and hypersensitivity pneumonitis (HP).  Dr. Paul also has a specialized interest in cystic lung diseases and serves as the UVA Clinic Director for the LAM Foundation. She participates in both NIH and industry sponsored clinical trials and provides oversight to the portfolio of ILD clinical trials at UVA.

Dr. Paul earned her medical degree and completed her residency in Internal Medicine at the University of Maryland. She subsequently completed a fellowship in Pulmonary and Critical Care Medicine at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA).  Outside of medicine, Dr. Paul enjoys spending time with her family and amateur gardening.
