Bio & Overview
Chandler Fountain, MD, is an interventional radiologist who specializes in image-guided treatments for portal hypertension, cancer, peripheral arterial disease, and venous disease.
In addition to his clinical role, he's dedicated to medical education and training future radiologists.
Dr. Fountain was born and raised in Jackson, Mississippi. He graduated with highest honors from Emory University in Atlanta, Georgia. He attended medical school at Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, North Carolina.
At the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Dr. Fountain completed a Transitional Year Residency and a Diagnostic Radiology Residency, rising to the role of chief resident in 2021. He then went on to pursue an independent residency in interventional radiology at UVA School of Medicine. He joined the UVA faculty in August 2023, as assistant professor of radiology and medical imaging.
In his free time, Dr. Fountain enjoys mountain biking, cooking and spending time with family.
