Bio & Overview
Maxine (Maxie) Kresse, MD, joined the UVA Health faculty in 2020 after completing radiology residency training at UPMC and a dedicated musculoskeletal radiology fellowship at Mayo Clinic Arizona.
Dr. Kresse enjoys all aspects of musculoskeletal radiology and has a particular interest in resident and fellow education. She is the associate fellowship director for musculoskeletal radiology and has served as the chair of the Residency and Fellowship Education Committee for the Society of Skeletal Radiology.
Dr. Kresse was born and raised in Kansas City, Missouri, the “City of Fountains” and home to Super Bowl and World Series champions, the KC Chiefs and Royals, respectively.
Tempted by a scholarship offer and opportunity to explore a new region, Dr. Kresse attended college at Emory University in Atlanta before returning to her home state to complete medical school at University of Missouri.
Outside of work, Dr. Kresse enjoys spending time with her husband and sons as well as physical fitness.
