The UVA Allergy and Immunology laboratory is seeking adults, ages 18 and over, from the Charlottesville community, to investigate the immune response to COVID-19 Vaccines. The goal will be to use a novel quantitative test to measure antibody levels before and after the "booster" vaccination (for example, the second dose after a Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or the third dose after a Pfizer/Moderna COVID-19 vaccine).
Ideal candidates will have previously received a full primary regimen of one of the three approved COVID-19 vaccines and have not yet received their booster, or have only received the booster dose within the past three weeks. At an initial visit, participants will be asked to fill out a brief questionnaire and provide one tube of blood. Participants may be invited back for up to 3 additional visits over a two-year time span. Each visit will last approximately 20-30 minutes. There will be no compensation for this study, but study-related results of antibody levels for COVID-19 can be reported to participants at no cost.
