Official Trial Title
Antibodies and allergic disease in SARS-CoV-2 infection
Study Description

The Allergy and Immunology laboratory is seeking UVA employees, ages 18-85, to test serum and saliva samples for COVID-19 antibodies. Participants will be compensated with a $20 gift card per visit for this study (up to $100 for 5 visits), and also study-related results of serum and saliva antibody levels for COVID-19 will be reported to participants and will be provided at no cost.

Ideally, the initial visit will occur within one week prior to receipt of the COVID-19 vaccine. The first visit involves participant consent, draw of one tube of blood, saliva collection and answering a questionnaire. The study coordinator may contact participants for follow-up visits at 2-6 weeks, 6-12 weeks, 4-6 months and 12-24 months after initial visit, though these visits are voluntary. The follow-up visits will entail a questionnaire, blood draw and saliva sample to investigate how antibody levels have changed. Each visit will last approximately 15-30 minutes.

For more information, please contact the study coordinator via the email listed above.

Compensation is a $20 gift card given at the completion of each visit (5 visits total).
