Effects of modulators of gluconeogenesis, glycogenolysis and glucokinase activity on endogenous glucose production in type 2 diabetes
Study Description

The Division of Endocrinology seeks men and women ages 25-80 years with type 2 diabetes for a research study. The purpose of the study is to determine the effects of three different diabetes medications on night-time blood sugars.

Study involves
1. A screening visit including a blood draw, urine test and physical exam
2. 2-4 inpatient visits including 2 overnight visits at the Clinical Research Unit at Fontaine Research Park
3. Treatment for up to 8 weeks with either Metformin, Insulin Glargine which is a long-acting insulin, or the experimental drug Dorzagliatin which is FDA-approved for research.

All visits will be completed within a 3-month period.

Study-related tests and procedures will be provided at no cost.
