Biography

Aaron E. Bond, MD, PhD, FAANS, is a board-certified neurosurgeon who specializes in complex and minimally invasive spinal procedures, movement disorders, and epilepsy. His research interests include focused ultrasound for the treatment of movement disorders.

Dr. Bond was born in Southern California and attended the University of Southern California for both undergraduate and graduate school, completing a doctorate in electrical engineering. After a successful career in telecommunications, he returned to Southern California to attend the USC Keck School of Medicine in Los Angeles.

Dr. Bond completed his neurosurgery residency training at UVA, and fellowship training in New Zealand. After completion of his residency, Dr. Bond joined the team at Semmes-Murphey Clinic in Memphis, Tenn., where he had a dual appointment as assistant professor of neurosurgery at the University of Tennessee. Dr. Bond built a busy cranial and spine practice and was responsible for the creation of the Regional One Incisionless Surgery Center. He returns to UVA as part of a collaboration between UVA Health and Centra, and will have dual appointments as a neurosurgeon at Centra Medical Group in Lynchburg and UVA.

In his free time, Dr. Bond enjoys hiking, fishing, and traveling.
