Biography

D. Aric Elmer, MD, is an anesthesiologist who specializes in acute pain medicine and regional anesthesia, the use of local anesthetics to block sensations of pain from a large area of the body.

Born in Berlin, Germany, Dr. Elmer grew up in Ogden, Utah and attended Weber State University, earning a degree in microbiology. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Virginia Medical School, where he also completed his anesthesiology residency training and fellowship training in regional anesthesiology and acute pain prior to joining the UVA faculty in 2017.
