Tara Beuscher, DNP, MSN, RN, ANP, specializes in the care of complex wound and skin issues, including nail disorders. She developed the wound care program at UVA Transitional Care Hospital, which is certified by The Joint Commission.
Dr. Beuscher was born and raised in northern Iowa and attended the University of Iowa, receiving a bachelor’s degree in nursing (BSN). She then moved to northern Wisconsin, earning a master’s degree in adult health nursing with a focus on gerontology from the University of Wisconsin – Eau Claire. Later, she completed a postmaster’s program in adult health nursing (NP) at the University of Wisconsin –Madison. She also earned a Doctor of Nursing Practice, with a focus on nursing leadership, from University of Wisconsin – Milwaukee, prior to moving to Virginia. She joined UVA in 2012.
Dr. Beuscher enjoys bicycling, swimming and yoga. She has two daughters, one living in Wisconsin and one attending James Madison University. She serves on the board of the Wound, Ostomy and Continence Nurses Society and is active in several professional organizations locally, including the Virginia Council of Nurse Practitioners and the Virginia Nurses Association.
