VATS Lobectomy

VATS Surgery for Lung Tumor Removal

Service Type
Body

Several lobes form each of your lungs. If you have cancer on one of these lobes, we can remove the lobe. At UVA, we can do this operation, called a lobectomy, with video-assisted thoracic surgery, or VATS surgery.

VATS Surgery at UVA

Compared to a traditional, open lobectomy, this high-tech procedure means:

  • Faster recovery
  • Less pain

At UVA, you’ll get care from one of the most experienced hospitals in performing VATS in the region.
