Interpreter Services We offer free interpreter services for patients and families with Limited English Proficiency (LEP) or who are deaf or hard of hearing under Title VI of the Civil Rights Act.* Hospital staff are responsible for arranging for this assistance. Our facility has instant 24-hour access to telephonic interpretation services. Also available: staff interpreters, trained and tested volunteer interpreters and agency interpreters.

Summer Volunteer Program

UVA undergraduates should apply through the Madison House's medical services programs.

This intensive program for adult volunteers occurs during the summer months of May-August. We expect you to commit to a minimum of 50 hours of volunteer service, typically two shifts per week. We'll arrange your start and stop dates on an individual basis. We can accommodate vacations in most cases.

Get Your Scans

If UVA doesn’t have your scans (CT, PET or other imaging), biopsy slides or doctors’ notes that relate to your diagnosis, please have your referring doctor send them to UVA Cancer Center or bring a copy (CD or DVD for imaging and slides for biopsies) with you.
