UVA Breast Cancer Program
The UVA Breast Cancer Program offers reduced out-of-pocket expenses for mammograms to those who qualify through a financial screening process, as well as financial aid for mobile mammography.
Contact the UVA Financial Aid office at 434.982.4330 for more information.
Every Woman's Life offers three important health exams: Pap tests, breast exams and mammograms for women ages 40-64 who are not covered by Medicare. The program covers the counties of Albemarle, Buckingham, Fluvanna, Greene, Louisa, Madison, Nelson and Orange, and the City of Charlottesville.
Women must qualify based on income, age and other factors. If you would like to find out if you are eligible for the program, please complete the following survey: Every Woman's Life Screening Questionnaire.
Additional Financial Aid for Mobile Mammography
In addition to financial assistance offered by UVA and the Every Woman's Life Program, the following may be applicable to your care. Determination of program eligibility will be made at the time of scheduling.
- The Tobacco Commission Grant helps fund screening mammography for those patients who receive treatment within the Virginia Tobacco Footprint.
- Funds raised from the annual Women’s 4 Miler race, held in Charlottesville, can be used to cover the cost of screening mammography if the patient is within the ages of 40 and 64, and is either uninsured or underinsured.
- Pink Ribbon Polo is a community polo match at King Family Vineyards, which raises funds to assist in covering screening mammography costs and works in conjunction with Every Woman’s Life. Patients must meet the same eligibility standards of the Every Woman’s Life Program.
