CARESTREAM MyVue Terms and Conditions

UVA MyVue is a personalized, secure way to access, share and help manage your radiology images. With UVA MyVue, you can:

  • View images online through a secure login
  • Share imaging results with your other health care providers
  • Eliminate the difficulty of transporting bulky films

UVA MyVue is not your official UVA medical record. You can get a copy of your official medical record from: http://uvahealth.com/patients-visitors-guide/medical-records

We think it is important for you to know how we handle information we communicate via the Internet. This Terms & Conditions statement outlines our practices and our sensitivity to your right to privacy. We reserve the right to revoke access at any time for any reason.

You must be 18 years of age or older to request activation of a UVA MyVue account.

Electronic Communication

There may be times when UVA MyVue is not available.

You will be notified via e-mail when there is new information that you can view in UVA MyVue. This means that anyone with access to your e-mail will be able to see this notice. Although no diagnostic medical information will be sent in the e-mail notice, it will indicate that you have had a radiological exam, and you may wish to consider this when you provide an e-mail address. If you wish to receive e-mail notices, it is your responsibility to keep your email address up-to-date in your UVA MyVue profile.

Security and Confidentiality

We afford the same degree of confidentiality to medical information stored in MyVue as is given to any medical information stored by UVA Health System. We are committed to protecting the confidentiality of your medical information. We limit UVA Health System employees’ access and ability to enter or view information based upon their job duties. Firewalls, passwords, encryption, and audit trails are used to safeguard your information. We have taken steps to keep all information received electronically as secure as possible against unauthorized access and use.

Your user name and password provide two layers of authentication and are stored in an encrypted database that is isolated from the Internet. As a UVA MyVue user, your role in maintaining the security of your medical information is to:

  1. Change your password on a regular basis, and
  2. Keep your login ID and password confidential. The security of your login and password is your responsibility. If you think your password has been compromised, please change it immediately.

Appropriate Use

Access to UVA MyVue is granted to give you information about your medical care. Improper use of this system may result in your MyVue access being terminated at the discretion of the UVA Health System.

Termination or Deactivation of UVA MyVue Access

UVA Health System reserves the right to terminate access to UVA MyVue at any time and for any reason. The following is a list of reasons for termination of UVA MyVue access. However, this list is not all-inclusive, and each circumstance would be evaluated individually:

  1. you are no longer a patient of the practice/physician
  2. pending legal issues with the physician or UVA Health System
  3. inappropriate use of UVA MyVue customer service
  4. other activities that cause a disruption to operations

Automatic deactivation will occur if the number of failed login attempts exceeds established limits.
